Today, the 4th of February 2020, marks the 20th anniversary of World Cancer Day.
An initiative of the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC), the largest and oldest international cancer organization, World Cancer Day is an international awareness day that unites people and communities to raise awareness and inspire action for a cancer-free future.
The 2019-2021 campaign theme is I Am and I Will; an ‘empowering call-to-action urging for personal commitment and represents the power of individual action taken now to impact the future’.
With 2020 also marking the midpoint of the 3-year campaign, the people behind World Cancer Day focused much of their video strategy on what each individual can do in the battle against cancer. Launching the series ‘20 Leaders: 1 Question’, they pose the same question to leaders around the world: What is the bravest thing we can do about cancer?

Why is this a great use case?
Using video to spread their message on their social channels, Worldcancerday.org elicit emotion with human stories, in this simple yet effective interview series.
UICC believes that ‘access to life-saving cancer diagnosis, treatment and care should be equal for all – no matter where you live, what your income, your ethnicity or gender’, and that individuals can create change together.
We’re proud to help UICC spread the message of this growing global movement.
