Accessing the Asset Editor

NEW! To view and trim a specific clip in your Lightbox:

1. First, drag the asset from your Lightbox to the Timeline
2. Then, click on the asset in the Timeline and select the pencil icon, or the Asset Editor
3. Next, you will see the Asset Editor. Below the clip, you will find more information about the clip, including title, ID number, date posted, description and restrictions.

 

4. To trim the clip, simply click “Show original video.” This will take you to a Video Preview view, where you can trim the clip selection; scan by ‘video scenes’ or segments; and add these chosen segments to your Lightbox.

 

 

5. After clicking ‘Add & Close’ or ‘Close,’ you will be taken back to the Timeline, where the new chosen clip segments will load in your Lightbox.

 

To edit any asset text, graphics, audio and effects:

1. First, drag the desired asset from your Lightbox onto your Timeline.
2. Click the asset on the Timeline. You should see a toolbar pop up above the asset.
3. Click on the pencil icon. You can also open the asset editor by double clicking on the asset.
4. Now, you are in editing mode.The header menu will give you options for editing your asset, while the right side of the screen will show you a preview of your asset that reflects any overlays you have applied. On the left side of the screen is the Scene Editor. This is where all of your overlays, or edits to the asset, will line up.
5. To go in and edit any overlay, simply click on the name of that edit in the lineup.
6. To delete any overlay, simply click the X to the right of the overlay in the lineup.
