Sharing Drafts and Produced Videos with Slack

The first time you use the Slack integration you will be promoted to connect to your Slack account.

Sharing a Draft of Video:

1. From the Timeline, select ‘Preview & Produce’ from the menu bar
2. If prompted, enter your Title and select a Thumbnail from the Video Information screen, then click ‘Preview & Produce’
3. Wait for the preview to load, then click ‘Share Your Draft’ 
4. Choose ‘Share on Slack.’ The first time you do this, you will be prompted to connect your Slack account to Wochit.

Note: The preview that you see is the version that will be sent in Slack. 

1. Then, select Share on Slack.
2. A pop-up will appearing prompting you to select the person or channel you would like to share the video with
3. Next you’ll be asked to include a short message, this is an opportunity to ask for feedback, collaborate on possible directions, or get an opinion on a specific image you used
4. Select ‘Post,’ and you will see your video posted in the direct message or channel you requested. 
5. Within Slack, it is easy for you and anyone else to preview the video, or click ‘Edit Video’ and jump into Wochit and edit it.

Note: If you are sending your video out to be edited, be sure to exit the video draft after sending, and remind the editor to exit out of any other work that may be open in Wochit before entering the project. This will free up the video and user to enter to make edits.

Sharing a Produced Video:

If the first time you are using Slack is to share a produced video, a similar work flow will appear:

1. Once you approve the Preview, click ‘Produce My Video.’  
2. The produced video preview will display the option to share the video on Slack on the right side bar under ‘Publish.’ 
3. In Slack, the video will appear in the conversation you chose, along with a button to ‘Play in Wochit.’

From the Home Screen:

1. Click on the ‘Produced’ tab on the header menu
2. Select the video you want to share
3. While previewing, click the [info icon] to view the ‘Publish’ menu
4. Select the Slack option
